This project was already well under way when I was asked to get involved. Owned by two couples that were working downstate and trying to do much of the design work themselves, they needed help when a family member got sick. Much of the cabinetwork and tile had already been selected but with painters scheduled to start in two days there was an urgent need for paint colors to be decided upon. By traveling back and forth downstate with selections and drawings, I was able to coordinate product selections and design element decisions that needed to be made within the contractor’s time-line. Helping to translate technical jargon and be the customer’s eyes and ears on site when they couldn’t be, helped the clients stay focused and ensured that we were able to bring all the bits and pieces together.
Ultimately, we took the selections they had already made, made minor tweaks, added lighting, tile, countertops, furnishings, and accessories to give them the vacation destination they really desired.
